 SALES
MARKETING & PR
Back to basics. - It's not rocket
science!
The objective of any firm is to
market and sell its products or services profitably. In order to achieve
this, a company needs to draw on a number of skill sets including Sales,
Marketing, Advertising and PR. Most companies have individuals on
staff who have experience in some of the above disciplines. However - few have
people who can provide extensive experience in all of these critical
areas.
Experience Matters.
When it comes to sales and marketing I guess my strength (and advantage) is "real world" experience. A
lifetime in information technology, commerce and broadcasting has enabled
me to visualise the "big picture" far more concisely than other individuals
who may be experienced in only a few of the above key disciplines.
Today, I provide these services to a select number of companies on a contract basis, ensuring
that you they only pay for what they need.
Sales & Marketing
Having spent over a decade as sales and
marketing manager with the CSL group (Europe's largest offshore computer
and IT providers), I understand the importance of
developing a successful sales strategy. Perhaps more importantly, I understand how important it is to ensure that such a strategy does not
stand alone, but instead, integrates with ongoing and focused tactical
plans to ensure success.
CTV - It's All About Strategy
Having the
right strategy was the key to our own success when in 1992 we launched Commercial Television & Video. CTV's remit was simple to operate
as an ENG agency while utilizing down time to produce commercial and training
videos. It was a success. Although before relocating to Canada
we sold our interests in the
company, CTV continues to be one of the largest offshore production
companies in Britain.
Sow It. Grow it. Then take it to
market!
In the mid nineties with CTV up and
running and with the aid of some very talented technical staff, we
launched
Manx Internet. Again the remit was simple, to act as a web portal and start
page for the local community while at the same time providing up market
website design and hosting. ManxNet.com became an instant success and in
1999 we sold the venture to a subsidiary of British Telecom plc.
